302 stainless steel belongs to the international stainless steel marking method. 302 stainless steel--S30210 (American AISI, ASTM)
The corresponding Chinese grade of 302 is 12Cr18Ni9 [1]
International stainless steel marking method
The American Iron and Steel Institute uses three digits to designate various standard grades of malleable stainless steel. in:
â‘ Austenitic stainless steel is marked with numbers of 200 and 300 series.
â‘¡ Ferritic and martensitic stainless steels are represented by numbers in the 400 series. For example, some of the more common austenitic stainless steels
It is marked with 302, 304, 316 and 310.
â‘¢ Ferritic stainless steel is marked with 430 and 446, and martensitic stainless steel is marked with 410, 420 and 440C
Note, dual phase (austenite-ferrite).
â‘£Stainless steel, precipitation hardening stainless steel and high alloys with iron content less than 50% usually use patent names or trade names.

302 stainless steel application field: for structural steel and welded parts with low corrosion resistance, such as building exterior decoration, non-magnetic accompanying parts and components of low temperature devices can also be used. 302 stainless steel is suitable for food processing, storage and transportation. Has good processability and weldability.

Â
Corrosion resistance
302 stainless steel provides useful corrosion resistance in a variety of moderately oxidizing to moderately reducing environments. This alloy is widely used in equipment and utensils for processing and handling food, beverages and dairy products. These alloys are also used in heat exchangers, pipes, tanks and other process equipment that come into contact with fresh water. In addition, a wide variety of applications involve household and industrial chemicals. These alloys contain 18% to 19% chromium to resist oxidizing environments such as dilute nitric acid. These alloys are also resistant to moderately aggressive organic acids such as yi acids and reducing acids such as phosphoric acid. More highly reducing environments, such as boiling dilute hydrochloric acid

Â
Excellent plasticity and toughness: suitable for various processing techniques, including cold working, thus enabling manufacturing of different shapes.
Good corrosion resistance: particularly outstanding in media such as oxidizing acids, atmosphere, steam, and water.
High strength: Although not reinforced by heat treatment, high strength can be achieved through cold processing.
Non magnetic: suitable for non-magnetic components and low-temperature devices.
Not suitable for intergranular corrosion environments: It is not recommended to use in environments with intergranular corrosion risks.
International corresponding brand
302 stainless steel plates have corresponding grades internationally to meet the needs of different regions and standards. Here is an introduction to some international corresponding brands:
American Standard (ASTM): Under the ASTM standard, the corresponding grade of 302 stainless steel plate is ASTM A666, and different mechanical performance requirements are usually distinguished by different states (1/4H, 1/2H, 3/4H, H, EH).
International Standard (ISO): The corresponding brand of ISO is ISO 15510 X5CrNi18-10.
European Standard (EN): Under the European Standard, the corresponding grade of 302 stainless steel plate is EN 1.4310.
Japanese Standard (JIS): Under the JIS standard, the corresponding grade of 302 stainless steel plate is SUS 302.
Â
Â
The application of 302 stainless steel plate is very extensive, mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Structural and welded components: suitable for the manufacturing of structural and welded components with low requirements for corrosion resistance and strength.
Non magnetic components: Due to their non-magnetic nature, they are commonly used in applications that require no magnetic field generation, such as electronic device manufacturing.
Low temperature device components: Due to their stable performance, they are suitable for manufacturing parts in low-temperature environments.
In summary, the chemical composition and performance characteristics of 302 stainless steel make it an ideal material for various application fields, including manufacturing structural components, welded components, non-magnetic components, and low-temperature device components. There are multiple international corresponding grades worldwide to meet the standards and needs of different regions.
